HowTheLightGetsIn May is a worldwide virtual festival experience, gathering Nobel laureates, groundbreaking journalists, mindblowing scientists, and the world's leading thinkers in all fields to debate the most urgent, fascinating dilemmas we face in 2021.

On the 29th of May, we'll be livestreaming over eighty events on ten virtual stages, including folk, electro and world music acts, all-night DJ parties balanced out by stand-up comedy and mind-boggling debates and talks on everything from particle physics to patriarchy! In addition there will be a whole host of social spaces where you can meet other festival goers, chat to your friends and make new ones, talk over the events you've seen, bump into speakers and artists, listen to some great music together - and dance the night away!

The speaker line-up is nothing short of spectacular this year, with the world’s leading thinkers accessible right from the comfort of your home! Speakers will include legendary philosopher and cultural critic Slavoj Žižek, Nobel Prize winning economist Esther Duflo, Evolutionary biologist and founding member of the 'intellectual dark web' Bret Weinstein, and the revolutionary astrophysicist who discovered the interstellar phenomena we now know as pulsars, Dame Jocelyn Bell Burnell. Other great minds include Tim Harford, Patricia Churchland, Kate Green, Vince Cable, Avi Loeb, Toby Ord, Naomi Oreskes, Kenneth Cukier, Betty Sue Flowers and many more.

It wouldn't be HowTheLightGetsIn without a fantastic lineup of side-splitting comedians and the hottest music acts, to be announced shortly.
